Effect of Doping of Cd1?xZnxS/ZnS Core/Shell Quantum Dots in Negative Dielectric Anisotropy Nematic Liquid Crystal p-Methoxybenzylidene p-Decylaniline

We report the effect of doping Cd1?xZnxS/ZnS core/shell quantum dots (CSQDs) in nematic liquid crystal p-methoxybenzylidene p-decylaniline (MBDA) at 0.05 wt/wt%, 0.1 0.15 0.2 0.25 and 0.3 wt/wt% concentrations CSQDs MBDA. Dielectric parameters with without bias respect to frequency have been investigated. The change electro-optical temperature has also demonstrated. increase mean dielectric permittivity was found due large dipole moment CSQDs, which impose stronger interactions molecules. anisotropy changes sign on MBDA crystal. It concluded that CSQD noticeably increased presence an electric field. reduced ion screening effectively. This phenomenon is attributed competition between generated ionic impurities during assembling process trapping CSQDs. rotational viscosity decreased increasing concentration a faster response time observed for concentration. birefringence doped system inclusion These results find application field display devices, phase shifters, LC—gratings, TIR waveguide, industries, projectors.
